MenB Vaccination
Commencing in the first quarter of 2024, this will be a state-funded infant and adolescent meningococcal B (menB) vaccination program.
The following Queensland residents will be able to access free menB vaccine through this program:
Infants 6 weeks to 12 months of age (3 doses)
Catch-up vaccination for children aged over 12 months to less than 2 years (2 doses)
Adolescents aged 15 to 19 years (inclusive) (2 doses).
This eligibility reflects the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation’s (ATAGI) menB recommendations for infants and adolescents.
The Queensland Government will also make the menB vaccine available to school students through the existing Year 10 Queensland School Immunisation Program from 2024.
